AADOCR Fellows Program

• Benefits

  Applicants who are accepted into the AADOCR Fellows Program will receive the following benefits upon induction:

  • Recognition at AADOCR Annual Meeting President's Induction Ceremony.
  • Recognition in AADOCR Science Advocate, e-newsletter exclusive to AADOCR members.
  • An AADOCR Fellows Program lapel pin.
  • The opportunities to network with other Fellows at the Donors and Sponsor's lounge at the AADOCR Annual Meeting.

• Expectations of the Fellows

  Applicants who are accepted into the AADOCR Fellows Program should be active in many facets of AADOCR. Fellows may:

  • Take part in the election of new Fellows.
  • Serve as an ambassador of excellence in oral, craniofacial and dental research.
  • Advise the AADOCR Board and/or AADOCR Council on matters when requested.
  • Mentor other AADOCR members.
  • Remain an AADOCR member to retain Fellow status.

• Criteria

  • Applicants must be an AADOCR member for a minimum of the last 5 consecutive years.
  • Must make outstanding achievements to AADOCR and dental, oral,  craniofacial and research.
  • Must make outstanding contributions in AADOCR.
  • Must submit two letters of nomination from IADR/AADOCR members stating why the applicant should be included in the AADOCR Fellows Program. (Letter not to be written by a current AADOCR Fellows Committee member).
  • Must submit CV and highlight top 10 publications.
  • Meeting the required point total (see the Fellows Program Points System). The suggested total number of points required to meet Fellow status is 150.

• Application Process

  The letters of nomination and CV highlighting the top 10 publications in addition to the application are reviewed by the Fellows Review Committee. A limited number of Fellows are granted every other year beginning in 2027. Applicants are responsible for providing all data on years of service and contributions. Applicants that are not current members of the IADR/AADOCR will not be considered regardless of the number of points acquired in the past. Future year inductions will be voted on by a group of no fewer than 5 current Fellows. (Any member of the AADOCR Board of Directors being considered as a Fellow will recuse themselves from the Board’s final approval vote.)

  2.    Candidates should have contributions in each of the broader categories:

  • Involvement in AADOCR 
  • Supportive of the Annual Meeting
  • Contribution to Journals 
  • Leadership in Committees 
  • Excellence in Science 

  To be considered for fellowship status, individuals must have a balanced portfolio, demonstrating excellence in both scientific achievements and in service to the organization. The AADOCR Fellows Committee will review and evaluate all the materials provided to determine if the applicant will be initiated as an AADOCR Fellow.
