Reasons for Running
As a first-year DMSc resident in Periodontology at HSDM I am passionate about advancing student research and fostering a collaborative academic environment. Serving as the AADOCR National Student Research Group (NSRG) Graduate Student Representative would allow me to contribute to the growth of a supportive network for aspiring researchers, advocate for graduate student interests, and bridge the gap between clinical practice and innovative research. I am committed to fulfilling the responsibilities of this role with dedication. My goal is to inspire and engage peers in impactful research opportunities that will shape the future of oral health.
Research Conducted / Student Activities
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have engaged in research and student activities in periodontology and related fields. My research at the ADA-Forsyth Institute under Dr. Thomas Van Dyke focuses on bone regeneration and tissue engineering, including projects involving 3D-printed pro-resolving mediator-releasing scaffolds for mandibular defect regeneration. The outcomes of this work have been presented at conferences, including IADR and the Penn Periodontal Conference.
Beyond research, I have served as a trainee leader at the Forsyth Institute for one year, where I shaped my leadership and mentorship skills, fostering a collaborative research environment. Additionally, I have been committed to community service, participating in initiatives that provided dental care to underrepresented families and children in underserved areas.
