The Honorable Ben Cardin Bestowed AADOCR Honorary Membership

Published on: March 12, 2025

Alexandria, VA – The American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research bestowed Honorary Membership to the Honorable Ben Cardin. Cardin, U.S. Senator from Maryland, was recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the 54th Annual Meeting of the AADOCR, which was held in conjunction with the 49th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research, on March 12-15, 2025 in New York, NY.

Senator Cardin was the lead sponsor of a resolution commemorating the 75th anniversary of the NIDCR that passed the Senate earlier this year. His championship of the bill is what helped it gain bipartisan support in the Senate, traction with the committees of jurisdiction, and ultimately passage. He has also been a staunch supporter of oral health research, awareness, and expanded access to dental care for decades.

Honorary Members are non-members, selected based on the candidate’s significant contribution to, or support of, dental, oral, or craniofacial research.
